Mapping Jewish Charleston will explore the Jewish presence in the city at significant moments in each century. The exhibit will pinpoint historical sites, introduce topical themes, and link places to appropriate documents, images, and oral histories.
The final “page” on the 21st century will pinpoint new sites of Jewish interest, such as the spread of Jewish neighborhoods and organizations across both the Ashley and Cooper Rivers. This contemporary view also will function as a guided tour, virtual or real, for those who want to visit the enduring testimonies to our living history.
