DESCRIPTION:Dr. Melissa R. Klapper is Professor of History and Director of Women’s & Gender Studies at Rowan University. She is the author of numerous books and articles about American Jewish women’s history and the history of American childhood\, including Ballots\, Babies\, and Banners of Peace: American Jewish Women’s Activism\, 1890-1940\, which won the National Jewish Book Award in Women’s Studies; Ballet Class: An American History; and\, with Dianne Ashton\, The Civil War Diary of Emma Mordecai.
